Albert Edelfelt at Haikko Manor
Albert Edelfelt, the renowned Finnish painter, and his family visit the von Etter family at Haikko Manor in Porvoo, Finland, in the early 1900s.
Haikko Manor, acquired by General Sebastian von Etter in 1871, served as a focal point for Finnish and Russian elites. Notable visitors included members of the Russian imperial family and esteemed Finnish cultural figures like Albert Edelfelt. Edelfelt, drawn to Haikko's picturesque landscape, established a summer studio nearby, where he found inspiration for many of his renowned works.
