Kaivopuisto is a beautiful park located in the southern part of Helsinki, Finland, overlooking the Gulf of Finland. During the 19th century, Helsinki experienced urban expansion and the emergence of a wealthier class. The elite sought picturesque locations for their residences, and Kaivopuisto, with its seaside setting and proximity to the city center, became a favored location for building villas.
The first villas constructed in Kaivopuisto during this era were often characterized by a combination of architectural styles prevalent in the late 1800s, including elements of Romanticism and National Romanticism.
