Helsinki Shipyards
This is a gorgeous view of Helsinki taken in 1870 with a view of Eteläsatama (Southern port) and the center of Helsinki. The wooden buildings were warehouses along Makasiiniranta (Warehouse Shore). The Helsinki shipyard’s office is on the left. The stone houses of Pohjoisesplanadi (North Esplanade) and Helsinki Cathedral can be seen in the distance.
