Hanko Spa
Hanko (Hangö in Swedish) is a small town located on the southern coast of Finland. In the late 1800s, it became a favoured spa resort destination for the Russian nobility during Finland's time as a Grand Duchy under Russian rule. The town's coastal location and reputation for therapeutic mineral baths and invigorating sea air attracted affluent visitors seeking relaxation and health benefits.
Popular activities that visitors could enjoy included the mineral baths, seaside promenades, sunbathing and swimming, outdoor sports, and recreation, as well as entertainment and social events.
