Helsinki's North Esplanade Street

Helsinki's North Esplanade Street

Pohjois Esplanadinkatu (North Esplanade Street) is located on the northern side of the Esplanade Park, serving as a bustling commercial and residential street. It runs from the Market Square (Kauppatori) to the northern parts of the city, connecting several important landmarks and districts.

During the late 1800s, Pohjoisesplanadi became a prominent commercial center, lined with elegant shops, boutiques, and cafes catering to the city's residents and visitors. The street was known for its fashionable establishments and high-end retailers, attracting affluent clientele.

In addition to its commercial significance, Pohjoisesplanadi was also home to several residential buildings, housing both affluent families and the city's middle class. The proximity to the Esplanade Park and the city center made it a desirable place to live.
