A Tableau of Finland's War
In a tableau captured in late 1800s Finland, four well-known people from Helsinki present a depiction of Finnish soldiers and war. On the left is August Schauman, a Finnish journalist, politician and memoirist. He is best known as the founder of the Swedish daily newspaper Hufvudstadsbladet.
Next to August is Carl Eneas Sjöstrand, a Swedish sculptor, Johannes Collan and Leopold August Krohn, both physicians.
An art tableau refers to a scene or picture that has been carefully arranged and composed to depict a particular theme, story, or concept.
