Street Scene in Kokkola
The view down Länsikirkkokatu in Kokkola, Finland in the late 1800s.
At the time, Kokkola was primarily a port and trading town with a significant maritime history. It played a role in both domestic and international trade, connecting Finland with other parts of Europe. The city's economy was largely based on shipping, trade, and industries such as timber, which was an important export commodity.
