Vattola Pulp Mill
The Vattola pulp mill in Karkkila, Finland, processed wood fibers into pulp - a key raw ingredient used in the production of paper and paper-based products. The photograph appears to depict the production of large sheets of paper.
Pulp mills take in raw wood material, such as logs or wood chips, and use various mechanical and chemical processes to separate the fibers from the wood.
