The Village of Hamina
Residential and commercial buildings behind the central town hall and Orthodox church in Hamina in the early 1870s. Hamina is located in southeastern Finland along the coast of the Gulf of Finland.
Hamina was home to a fortress, which was built in the 18th century to defend the eastern border of the Swedish kingdom, and later the Russian Empire. The fortress played a crucial role in protecting the region.
