A Glimpse of Helsinki's South Harbour
Helsinki’s South Harbour, or Eteläranta, has long been a focal point for maritime activity in the city. In this 1888 view, two prominent landmarks can be seen in the distance: the Helsinki Cathedral, a symbol of the city, and the Uspenski Cathedral, a reminder of the city's historical ties to Russia. Both churches stand as iconic features of Helsinki’s skyline, adding a unique character to the harbour area. The South Harbour, a key hub for trade and travel, has been central to the city's growth.
