Pasi Jääskeläinen Plays the Kantele
Born in 1869, Basilius ‘Pasi’ Jääskeläinen was a Finnish artist who wrote plays, acted, sang, and played the kantele, a traditional string instrument. As legend tells it in the verses of Finland’s national epic poem the Kalevala, all the creatures of the forest emerged to hear the beauty of the kantele’s music.
