Seine Fishermen in Their Boat
A portrait of two men in Jänisjärvi (Rabbit Lake) or Pälkjärvi in their seiner, a boat used for seine fishing. Seine fishing uses a net with weights at the bottom and floats at the top to keep it vertical.
The lakes are located in Karelia, a region that was previously part of Finland prior to World War II.
