Helsinki's Old Church on Lönnrot Street
The view along Lönnrotinkatu (Lönnrot Street) to Helsinki Old Church. Helsinki Cathedral can be seen in the distance. Completed in 1826, Helsinki Old Church was designed by Carl Ludvig Engel and is the oldest existing church in Helsinki.
The park in which the church is situated is sometimes called Plague Park (Ruttopuisto) as more than a thousand plague victims were buried next to it in 1710.
