Johan Magnus Salenius
Johan Magnus Salenius (1846–1928) was a Finnish educator and historian known for his contributions to Finnish education and historical research. He served as a teacher and lecturer at various institutions, including the Porvoo Upper Elementary School and Kuopio’s Finnish Lyceum. Salenius conducted extensive research on the history of Southeastern Finland and Savonia, particularly focusing on the ecclesiastical conditions of Eastern Finland. Additionally, he served as secretary of the Finnish Historical Society and made significant contributions to the collections of Helsinki University and the Finnish Antiquarian Society. Salenius was married to Johanna Gustafva Langén, and their son, Armas Salenius, became a bookseller and translator.
