Kastelholma

Kastelholma, also known as Kastelholm, is a historic castle located in the Åland Islands, an autonomous region of Finland. The castle is officially known as Kastelholms slott in Swedish and Kastelholman linna in Finnish.

Kastelholma Castle has a long and storied history dating back to the late 14th century. It was originally constructed as a medieval fortress in the late 1300s and served as a defensive stronghold in the Åland Islands.

Today, Kastelholma Castle houses the Åland Museum, which is one of the most prominent cultural institutions in the Åland Islands. The museum features exhibits and artifacts that provide insights into the history, culture, and heritage of the Åland region.
