Turku Cathedral in Winter
A quiet winter view of Turku Cathedral and surroundings blanketed in a dusting of snow. It is so interesting to see the church in this way, high atop a barren hilltop, as it is now enveloped by the streets and buildings of a modern, bustling city. Such a difference!
Turku Cathedral (Turun tuomiokirkko) is a prominent historical and religious landmark located in the city of Turku, Finland. It is the mother church of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland and the only medieval basilica in Finland.
