A Boy in the Russian Cemetery

A Boy in the Russian Cemetery

A young boy stands amidst the snow-covered tombstones in the Russian (Hietaniemi) cemetery in Helsinki, Finland in the 1890s.

Imagine winter in 1800s Finland - all the snow had to be moved by hand or with the help of animals. No machines. It would have been a monumental task.
