Turku Waterfront
In the 1890s, the Turku waterfront along the Aura River featured bustling maritime activity, with warehouses, docks, and merchant houses lining the riverbanks. The Turku Cathedral, a prominent landmark, overlooked the scene. The area served as a hub for trade and commerce, with boats constantly navigating the river. Socially, it was a lively gathering place for sailors, merchants, and townsfolk, hosting markets and events.
