Turku Castle and Boat
Turku Castle has stood on the banks of the Aura River (Aurajoki) since the 1280s. Originally a fortification, it evolved into a grand castle over the centuries. Throughout the 17th century, it served various purposes including as the residence of the Governor General of Finland before transitioning into a prison, storehouse, and barracks.
