Horse Carriage in Front of the Agricultural College in Mustiala
The village of Mustiala is home to the oldest agricultural college in Finland, which opened in 1840. Initially the school trained staff to work in manors and large estates across the country but later shifted to training agronomists in 1865. It was the first college to teach Finns to drain their fields.
Currently the college is a teaching and research farm that encourages organic production methods. It is part of Häme University of Applied Sciences.
